Try These Tips to Hook the Media

I’m thrilled that I have published my new book IMPRESSario: Present and Promote the Star Within You. I am now busy with the publicity and promotion of the book which as you will understand is a major part of any production. Books, movies, shows, events and any sort of production does include a significant media and marketing push to get people to the front door. The same goes for the “front door” of your business whether large or small. You not only need to be good at what you do and have a product or service that people want, but people need to know about it.

For a personal brand, developing a profile through the media whether that it mainstream or social can have a very influential effect on being seen, heard and known.

In this blog (with video) I share a few tips to help you stand out through the media. By the way more of this is shared in IMPRESSario, Present and Promote the Star Within You, where I devote a number of chapters to the marketing and publicity of YOU.

  1. Be the expert. Gain the appropriate skills and deep knowledge to become an expert in your field. Become a qualified member of your industry’s association, as this will give you credibility. Winning awards in your industry will add to your authority. 
  2. Be clear on what your message is – know what you want to say. Understand that you need to have a point of difference or something interesting to say and that you need to get that across in an entertaining and informative way.  
  3. Know your audience. Zero in on your target and know where they get their information from.
