How do you engage an audience through a speech or presentation?
This video was one of my most popular last year, so today I am sharing it with you in my new, regular Vlog.
I write regular blog posts but I know some of you prefer quick, bite-size information so I hope my regular videos are useful for you. By the way, you can also visit my You Tube page and subscribe so you never miss a video.
In this video, I’m sharing five quick points to SHINE as a speaker.
S is for – Succinct. Can you summarise what you have to say simply without wafting on. Get to the point. And start your presentation with a strong opening.
H – Humour. Most compelling speakers do inject some light-hearted banter into their presentation.
I – Inspire them with passion and enthusiasm for your topic. What do you want them to feel? Is it motivated, inspired, having learnt something new? What do you want your audience to walk away with at the end?
N – Needs. What are the needs of the audience and what do they want to hear? WIF?
E – Environment. The room and set up needs to be right so you are comfortable and confident.
That is a very quick summary. You can learn more in my blog Engage as a Leader to Capture Audience Attention.
